The Hells Angels appear to be plotting their move back to Nova Scotia.
The biker gang hasn’t really been heard from around here since their clubhouse was raided in Fairview in 2003.
Saint Mary’s University criminology professor Stephen Schneider told News 95.7 much like Vancouver and Montreal, the marine ports of Atlantic Canada make the region a strategic place for organized crime to operate.
“That’s where you get your big shipments of drugs,” said Schneider. “The Hells Angels have been heavily into importing drugs for a number of years through marine ports.”
Schneider said since the Bacchus Motorcycle Club has ramped up its presence here, they see themselves as the dominant force and don’t want the Hells Angels to come back.
“There certainly might be some tensions growing, since it’s fairly clear the Hells Angels are interested in setting up another chapter in Nova Scotia or somewhere in Atlantic Canada,” explained Schneider.
He said he wouldn’t call the two biker clubs rivals, but said relations between the two are fairly tense at the moment.
