‘Historical’ human remains found on beach in HRM

EAST CHEZZETCOOK, N.S. – Police say human bones recently found on a beach east of Halifax are so old that the Medical Examiner’s Office considers them an archeological find.

RCMP Cpl. Greg Church says the bones were found Sunday by a group of beachcombers on Conrod Beach in Lower East Chezzetcook.

Church says the RCMP’s homicide and forensic units were called in, but it was the medical examiner who determined the remains were, at the very least, decades old.

The beach is a 40-minute drive east of Halifax.
