HALIFAX – Halifax Regional Municipality has still not released their so-called, ‘sunshine list’ of municipal employees who make over $100,000.
Provincial legislation was changed in the spring to require public disclosure of municipal employees making six-figure salaries, but according to the Chronicle Herald, the City cannot release the information until an administrative order is completed.
Tiffany Chase, spokesperson for the City, tells the Herald staffers have been working on the order since the rules were changed in May, and they can’t release the information until that work is completed.
The order would act as a guideline for disclosing the salaries of the City’s top earning bureaucrats.
Some reports have indicated that as many as 300 municipal employees would make the list.
