TORONTO – Adele has turned to Quebec filmmaker Xavier Dolan to direct the first music video from her much-anticipated new album, “25.”
The superstar singer-songwriter is set to release her new song “Hello” on Friday, when the video will also land.
Her label XL Recordings says it was shot in the countryside surrounding Montreal.
Adele’s album, “25,” is due Nov. 20.
Dolan is the celebrated phenom behind French-language films including “Mommy” and “Tom at the Farm.”
His upcoming big-screen plans include a French-language feature starring Marion Cotillard called “It’s Only the End of the World” and his first English-language project, “The Life and Death of John F. Donovan,” starring Kit Harington and Jessica Chastain.
Adele has been leaking details about her new material on social media.
“My last record was a break up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make up record,” Adele said in one revealing statement.
“I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.”
