Man arrested for assault and weapons offences

FALL RIVER, N.S. – A 24-year-old man faces several charges after police arrested him for assault and weapons offences in Fall River late Tuesday.
At 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police Dog Services responded to a complaint of an assault by a 24-year-old man against a 53-year-old man at a home in Oakfield.
The victim received minor injuries during the assault.
Police caught up with a suspect at a business in Fall River where officers arrested Daniel Joseph Michaud without incident.
Michaud was to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court Wedneday on charges of Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Careless Use of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, and Breach of Probation.
Police say the investigation is continuing.
