Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will be coming to Halifax for Rogers Hometown Hockey.
The pair, along with the Sportsnet mobile studio, will be here on November 5th and 6th.
Specific event details are expected to be released closer to the event, but fans can expect appearances by NHL alumni, hockey-themed experiences and interactive games for the whole family.
Canada’s ultimate hockey festival will be hitting 24 communities across the country, with each one being featured during a live broadcast.
“How could Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia produce both Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon? Who or what led Manitoba to develop Jocelyne Larocque, Brigette Lacquette and Halli Krzyzaniak; three defencemen on our National Women’s Team from neighbouring small towns?,” said MacLean.
“On Rogers Hometown Hockey we answer these questions with stories that put actual faces on the heart and soul of our game – the roots of success each and every Sunday.”
This is the third season for the event and the second visit to Halifax.
In February 2015, thousands showed up at the Emera Oval to celebrate Canada’s favourite game and Ron MacLean broadcast Rogers Hometown Hockey from Cole Harbour Place during a blizzard.
“I know that both Ron and I are beyond excited for each and every tour stop as we embark on our third season,” said Slone. “In particular, I’m eager to get back to my hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia.”
Last year the tour stopped in Wolfville and Sydney.
The full tour schedule can be found on the Rogers Hometown Hockey website.
