HALIFAX – Snow changing to freezing rain and finally to rain will make for poor road conditions in Halifax on Wednesday morning.
NEWS 95.7 Weather Specialist John Wilson says not as much freezing rain will fall as expected, but conditions will deteriorate as the temperature goes up and roads get messy.
“This system’s moving out fairly quickly, so the light snow changed to freezing rain for a little while and the back-end of that is moving through,” said Wilson. “So we’re going to quiet down pretty quickly.”
There are many delays and cancellations at Halifax Stanfield International Airport Wednesday morning, so be sure to check flight schedules.
As the storm moves out Halifax is expected to get up to a high of nine degrees, but Wilson says a system coming in Thursday evening will likely bring another 20 cm of snow to the area.
