Local boxer remains undefeated after big win Saturday night

HALIFAX – A big win for a local boxer over the weekend.

Custio Clayton improved his professional record to 11-0 after topping mexico’s Alfredo Chavez in the first round in a bout on Saturday night.

Of his 11 wins, Clayton has won nine of them by knockout.

Clayton, who now trains in Montreal, was the subject of what he calls racial profiling while training for this fight.

Clayton says he was pulled over while driving a rented SUV, placed in handcuffs and put into the back of a police car on what police say was a suspicion of illegal drugs.

Other than a ticket for improper registration, Clayton was released without charge.
