Gas prices expected to fall slightly this week

By Dan Ahlstrand

HALIFAX – After a couple of weeks of big increases in the price for gasoline across Nova Scotia, things will level off this week.

Our newsroom is predicting that when regulated prices are adjusted at midnight, they fall – but by only about a penny.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells NEWS 95.7 it appears that market speculators are backing off.

“Now we’re into the demand season so we’ve seen these huge increases,” said Murphy. “They’re into a bit of a slumber before the next onslaught, I’m calling it.”

Across the border in New Brunswick prices fell by 1.2 cents, lowering the maximum price to 115.3.
