Fatal fire in South Rawdon ruled a homicide

A fatal fire in the Municipality of the District of East Hants has been ruled a homicide by RCMP.
They were called to the blaze in a garage detached from a home on South Rawdon Road in South Rawdon at 9:12 a.m. on April 3rd.
A 27-year-old woman died in the fire, two young children were rescued from the home.
“The Nova Scotia Fire Marshal’s Office was called to assist with the investigation into the cause of the fire, it is believed to have been intentionally set,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Clarke.
Mounties say they’ve searched two homes in Lower Sackville, but haven’t laid any charges, their investigation is ongoing.
