Halifax-based sailor facing sexual assault charges
A Halifax-based Canadian Armed Forces member has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
The Canadian Forces Military Police Group laid the charges against Leading Seaman Darryl Ryan, of HMCS Fredericton, Tuesday.
They are related to two incidents in September 2016 involving another military member at Ontario's CFB Borden.

“He was actually serving with HMCS Halifax at the time of the incident,” said Lt.(N) Blake Patterson, public affairs officer with Canadian Forces Military Police Group.
In a news release, Lieutenant-Colonel Kevin Cadman, Commanding Officer of the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service said accusations of harmful and inappropriate sexual behaviour are taken seriously.
Officials have confirmed that Ryan has been assigned to work in a supervised position ashore as the matter proceeds through the military justice system for possible court martial.
