Don’t remove snow tires just yet recommends CAA

By Meghan Groff

If you're thinking of booking an appointment to switch your snow tires for all-seasons, the CAA recommends holding off for a few weeks.

The vice-president of CAA Atlantic said, even though spring has officially arrived, that doesn't always mean the winter weather is gone.

“We typically advise people to look to mid-to-late April,” said Gary Howard.

He said it's also a good idea to keep an eye on tire pressure this time of year.

“Because the tempertures will continue to climb and decline,” he explained. “Through the summer we don't see big variations in tire pressure, it's in the spring where we see the biggest ones.”

He added those temperature fluctions can contribute to potholes, so he recommends getting your alignment and tire balance checked.

“The one thing Canadians can count on, the NHL playoffs and potholes. That's what the spring brings.”
