Slight drop expected in gas prices this week

By Dan Ahlstrand

HALIFAX – After a couple of weeks of steady prices across the province, regulated gasoline prices are expected to fall this week.

News 95.7 predicts when prices are adjusted at midnight Friday that they will fall by about a penny per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7 the uncertainty in Syria and ongoing trade dispute between the U.S. and China are having an impact on prices, but the Canadian dollar has been a saving grace.

“There's been considerable volatility this week, albeit, the Canadian Dollar has climbed about two and a half cents over the last week, which is good for consumers,” Murphy said.

In New Brunswick, prices fell by 1.6 cents overnight to a new maximum price of $124.9/L.
