It appears that Spring may have actually sprung, and that means people will be spending more time outdoors.
That includes ATV users around the province, who would like to see some changes to ATV rules.
There's currently an online petition urging the Nova Scotia government to update rules for ATV riders.
Right now the Off-Highway Vehicle Act doesn't allow ATVers to ride on shoulders or roads.
Barry Barnett is with the ATV Association of Nova Scotia.
He says the laws here should be more like New Brunswick.
“We're asking for the opportunity to ride in certain and specific areas where it makes sense to put trail connectivity and to access services,” says Barnett. “We've identified a number of these areas for government to consider.”
Barnett says when riders come to a dead end, they have to decide if simply turn around, or break the law by using a road or shoulder to get to the next trail.
