‘Something for everybody’ at Dartmouth Switch

By Meghan Groff

The 5th annual Dartmouth Switch will take over the downtown core Sunday.

Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission executive director Tim Rissesco told NEWS 95.7's The Rick Howe Show, they'll be closing off about 2.5 kilometres of road for the event.

“Portland Street from Alderney Drive up to Prince Albert, then Prince Albert is closed right up to Sullivan's Pond and we fill that with activities.”

There will be live entertainment, including Mo Kenney, on two Portland Street stages; one near Alderney Drive and a second near Wentworth Street. Bands will also play at the Sullivan's Pond Bandshell.

“Well over 100 different organizations are setting up information booths, activities and arts and crafts for the family,” he said.

Up to 10,000 people are expected to come out to Dartmouth Switch between noon and 4 p.m. and Rissesco promises something for everybody.
