Weekend talk is returning to NEWS 95.7.
The local radio station is launching a new talk show that will air live Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The program will be hosted by Todd Veinotte, who promises to discuss a broad swath of top-of-mind topics with experts and listeners.
“It's going to be a look back at the big stories of the week … the stories that people are talking about internationally, nationally and locally,” he told HalifaxToday.ca.
In his first weekend of broadcasting, Veinotte plans to delve into the provincial government's decision to use a P3 model to fund the massive redevelopment of Halifax's QEII Health Sciences Centre and take a close look at the new USMCA trade deal.
Veinotte is no stranger to long-time listeners of the station.
He previously hosted a regional talk show on NEWS 95.7 for almost four years while based in Saint John.
“We're very excited to be launching an original hyper-local weekend talk show to serve our listeners in the HRM,” said news director Mark Campbell. “We're also thrilled to be adding a familiar voice to the airwaves as Todd Veinotte returns to NEWS 95.7.”
The Todd Veinotte Show can be heard from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and Sundays starting Thanksgiving weekend. However for the first two weeks, Sunday's show will end at 10 a.m. and will be followed by The Weekend Gardener with Niki Jabbour from 10 a.m. to noon.
