Gas prices are expected to fall this week in N.S.

By Dan Ahlstrand

Prices at the gas pumps are expected to drop on Friday.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices is expecting the price for regular self serve to fall by about three cents per litre.

Murphy says in addition to market pressures keeping prices down, consumers have also made an impact.

“Probably what happened the last week and the week previous is consumers were conserving anyway simply by looking at the price at the pump and delaying their purchase,” said Murphy. “That reflected back in the supply chain, and we've seen a build in gasoline inventories.”

In New Brunswick, regulated prices fell by five cents to a new maximum price of 127.9.
