Inverness County RCMP determined the two incidents were related, and that the victim had been struck by a gold car and then attacked the occupants of the vehicle with an object.

Later that morning, police arrested two men and one woman at a resident without incident. The woman was later released without charges.

The men are Joshua Lindsay Paul, 26, and Robert Lindsay Paul, 34, both from Eskasoni.

The two men are being charged with attempted murder, aggraveted assault and assault with a weapon. They remain in custody and will appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on Monday, August 26.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and it does not appear to be a random act.
