Driver transported by LifeFlight after crash in Colchester County

RCMP are investigating after a single vehicle collision that occurred early this morning in Brentwood, N.S.

At around 3:05 a.m. RCMP, EHS and the Brookfield Fire Department responded to a crash in the 1000 block of Highway 2, located between Stewiacke and Truro.

Responders located a vehicle in the ditch along the highway and the driver and sole occupant had been ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was identified as a 31-year-old from Brentwood and was transported to hospital via LifeFlight with life-threatening injuries.

A portion of Highway 2 is expected to remain closed until early afternoon Saturday as an RCMP collision analyst is on scene.

Traffic is being diverted to Exit 12 on Highway 2 and to Shortts Lake West Road.
