A Halifax man is facing charges after a string of robberies late last week.
Halifax Regional Police were called to four separate robberies on Thursday and Friday. They say all involved a man going into a business, telling staff he had a weapon and demanding money.
No weapon was seen in any of the incidents and there were no reported injuries.
The first two robberies took place Thursday on Joseph Howe Drive, one at the Atlantic Superstore Smoke Shop and the second at the Mobile gas station in the Superstore parking lot.
The third robbery was in Clayton Park Thursday at the Sobeys Griffin Smoke Shop on Lacewood Drive.
On Friday at around noon, the Bank of Nova Scotia on Dutch Village Road was also robbed.
Shawn St. Claire McOnie, 44, was arrested Friday evening near Main Avenue and Titus Street.
In addition to four counts of robbery, McOnie has also been charged with two counts of breach of a release order.
He's scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
