Three arrested after assault in Sheet Harbour

Three people are facing charges after a man was assaulted in Sheet Harbour Saturday night.

Halifax District RCMP say the victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries 

Mounties say the victim drove to a business on Church Point Rd. then walked to a home on Albert Howe Ln. to meet up with people he knew.

Investigators believe that's when he was allegedly assaulted with various weapons.

Three suspects were arrested Monday, and when RCMP searched a home on Albert Howe Ln., they say they seized a firearm, ammunition, cannabis and various weapons including those alleged to be involved in the assault.

Mitchell James Howe, 24, of Sheet Harbour, has been charged with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Four counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Stephen James Power, 27, of Sheet Harbour, has been charged with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Breach of release conditions

Both appeared in court today.

The third suspect has not yet appeared in court, but RCMP say the 28-year-old Sheet Harbour woman is facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
