Suspicious fire overnight on Quartz Drive

Halifax Regional Police say there are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred early Sunday morning, March 22.
At 1:14 a.m., officers responded to reports of a suspicious fire at 32 Quartz Drive in Spryfield.
Police say the backside of the residence was engulfed in flames but the lone occupant had safely exited the building.
Police evacuated neighbours while Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency extinguished the flames.
The home is directly across from the Barho family residence, where a fire claimed the lives of seven children in February 2019.
Police say the scene will be processed by investigators this morning and anyone with information is asked to call 902-490-5016 or submit a tip to Crime Stoppers.
