A snowfall warning has been issued for Halifax County – East of Porters Lake as a storm passes by the province on Thursday.
Environment Canada says snow will start near noon, with 10 to 20 cm expected. The snow is expected to transition to a mix of ice pellets and snow this evening with a risk of freezing rain, and precipitation will end by Friday morning.
Meantime Halifax Metro remains under a special weather statement, calling for 5 to 15 cm of snow. That snow will transition to ice pellets or straight rain before ending overnight.
Eastern mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton are expected to take the brunt of the storm. Up to 30 cm is possible in those areas, with a winter storm warning in effect.
