Those who have cottages in Hants and Colchester counties are being asked to check on their seasonal properties after a number of break-ins.
Because COVID-19 has kept people at home, investigators believe there may be people who don't yet know they're victims.
RCMP say several items, including vehicles, have been stolen in a number of incidents believed to have taken place between March 20 and May 4.
Police have arrested two people and have recovered some of the property that went missing during the thefts.
S/Sgt. Cory Bushell said police appreciate that people are doing their part by following guidelines to stop the spread of COVID-19, but they may want to consider checking in on their cottages.
“If they are not within your community, our advice is to contact a neighbour who lives near that property to check it for you,” Bushell said in a news release.
“We ask property owners to report any thefts or damage to Windsor District RCMP at 902-798-2207.”
