JetBlue: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. (AP) _ JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) on Tuesday reported a second-quarter loss of $320 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Long Island City, New York-based company said it had a loss of $1.18 per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $2.02 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of $1.86 per share.

The airline posted revenue of $215 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $220.1 million.

JetBlue shares have dropped 45% since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 48% in the last 12 months.
