If a Halifax police officer calls to ask you for a donation, it’s a scam
Halifax Regional Police say don't give out your personal or financial information if someone claiming to be an officer calls and asks for a donation.
They say someone recently reported this scam to them.
According to HRP, once the person agreed to make a donation, the caller asked for more money.

“Halifax Regional Police will never make this type of call,” police said in a news release. “If you receive a call from someone representing themselves as a Halifax Regional Police officer and requesting a donation, this is a scam.”
They suggest just hanging up the phone.
