Firefighters respond to Coburg Place fire, other calls

Earlier today, Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency responded to an apartment building fire on Coburg Road.
Around 12 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at Coburg Place across from the University of King's College.
“There was an occupant inside a second-floor apartment that was on fire,” Deputy fire chief Dave Meldrum tells NEWS 95.7. “She was able to evacuate without injury, so that's great news.”
The situation is under control and investigators are looking into the incident.
Shortly after 12 p.m., firefighters were also called to a fire alarm that set off in Clayton Park and to investigate an incident of smoke off of Highway 118 near exit 14.
