Gas prices expected to go up this week in Nova Scotia

By Dan Ahlstrand

An increase in the price for gasoline is on the horizon in Nova Scotia.

That is the prediction from the president of Canadians for Affordable Energy Dan McTeague who is looking for the price to rise by about two cents per litre at midnight.

McTeague says oil prices continue to rise, and that is having an impact on the price at the pump.

“A lot of oil companies are not able to produce any oil, or at least to the extent that they did pre-COVID,” said McTeague. “We're looking at a growing, and perhaps in some cases an alarming trend toward higher demand but less supply.”

In New Brunswick, that province's regulator moving the maximum price for self serve regular up by 7-10ths of a cent to 1.34.
