Two men face over 150 charges combined in string of break-ins and thefts

Two men are facing over 150 charges combined in relation to several break and enters, thefts from vehicles and vehicle thefts.

Halifax Regional Police allege the pair were involved in 23 incidents throughout Dartmouth, Bedford, Halifax and Lower Sackville over the last month. 

Chad Stephen Clarke, 28, is facing 92 charges:

  • 15 counts of break and enter to commit theft 
  • 2 counts of break and enter with intent (x 2)
  • 25 counts of theft under $5,000 
  • 25 counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • 2 counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • 5 counts of theft of a motor vehicle
  • 7 counts of mischief 
  • 6 counts of possession of break tools
  • 2 counts of use of  stolen credit card 
  • 1 count of fraud under $5,000 
  • 1 count of dangerous operation of a conveyance
  • 1 count of flight from police 

Michael Tyrone Lapointe, 25, is facing 67 charges:

  • 11 counts of break and enter to commit theft 
  • 2 counts of break and enter with intent (x 2)
  • 20 counts of theft under $5,000 
  • 20 counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • 1 count of possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • 3 counts of theft of a motor vehicle 
  • 5 counts of mischief 
  • 5 counts of possession of break tools

Both men were scheduled to appear in court yesterday.

Anyone who has had property stolen from their homes or vehicles is asked to report it to police.
