Porter Airlines returns to Halifax’s airport

By Meghan Groff

Porter Airlines has returned to Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Haligonians will once again have the option to fly Porter when heading to Ottawa, Montreal and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

The airline halted all fights at the start of the pandemic nearly 18 months ago. Earlier this month, it resumed service in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Thunder Bay.

As of today, Halifax and Quebec City have been added to its list of destinations.

“We're excited to be returning to Atlantic Canada and Quebec City, reuniting with our passengers and team members,” said president and CEO, Michael Deluce, in a news release.

“We'll be expanding service to even more destinations in the coming weeks.”

That's scheduled to include a Halifax to St. John's route as of Friday.

The company requires its employees to be fully vaccinated, or have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the start of their shift.
