Lena Metlege Diab takes Halifax West

Halifax West will stay Liberal red.
Former MLA for Halifax Armdale, Lena Metlege Diab, has won the riding.
Metlege Diab was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in 2013, stepping away from provincial politics to run federally after long-time MP and former Speaker of the House of Commons, Geoff Regan, decided to not reoffer.
As of 11:51 p.m. with 235 of 261 polls reporting, Metlege Diab has 20,539 votes, or 48 per cent.
The NDP's Jonathan Keith Roberts has 10,578 votes, or 25 per cent.
Conservative Eleanor Humphries has 9,222 votes, or 22 per cent.
People's Party of Canada's Julie Scott has 1,224 votes, the Green Party's Richard Zurawski has 1,036 votes and the Christian Heritage Party's Kevin Schulthies has 97 votes.
