Couple of Christmas parades expected to disrupt traffic Sunday

Halifax Regional Municipality says traffic delays are expected Sunday as Christmas parades wind through two communities.

The Fall River Christmas Parade of Lights starts at 5:30 p.m.

It will begin at Lockview High School, then proceed south on Lockview Road, east on Fall River Road, south on Highway 2 before turning left into the Sobeys parking lot. 

And the Eastern Passage Cow Bay Holiday Parade starts at 6 p.m.

That will begin at the Fisherman's Cove parking lot, then turn onto Shore Road, head left towards Quigley's Corner, then left toward the Royal Canadian Legion, and finish at 1341 Main Road. 

Drivers are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
