Weapons and drugs seized during searches

A 25-year-old man is facing several drugs and weapons charges after police conducted two searches last week.

“On December 10 investigators in the Drug Unit and Guns and Gangs Unit of the Integrated Special Enforcement Section conducted searches of two addresses, one on Parkland Avenue and the other on Prescott Street in Halifax, in relation to an ongoing investigation,” said HRP in a news release.

Cocaine, hydromorphone pills, cash, brass knuckles, a loaded handgun and ammunition.were seized by investigators and a man was arrested.

He'll appear in court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized
  • Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession for the purposes of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – hydromorphone pills
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
