Nova Scotia's COVID-19 vaccine outreach clinics are set to offer drop-in appointments in the next several days to help support vaccine accessibility.

The following clinics will offer vaccinations on the listed dates and times to anyone older than 12:

  • Beaver Bank Kinsac Community Centre (1583 Beaver Bank Rd.) on Friday, Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. offering first and second doses
  • Acadia Hall (650 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville) on Thursday, Jan. 6 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. offering first, second and third — if eligible — doses
  • The North Grove (140-6 Primrose St., Dartmouth) on Friday, Jan. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. offering first, second and third — if eligible — doses
  • Mount Saint Vincent University (166 Bedford Hwy.) on Friday, Jan. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. offering first, second and third — if eligible — doses

The following clinics will only offer first and second doses to children between the ages of five and 11.

  • Dartmouth North Public Library (105 Highfield Park Dr.) on Thursday, Dec. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Parents & Children Together (102-1114 Cole Harbour Rd.) on Tuesday, Jan. 4 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • The Family Resource Centre of West Hants (61 Morison Dr., Windsor) on Wednesday, Jan. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If possible, people should bring their health card and identification to the vaccine clinic.

Due to limited space, only one support person can accompany each child.

“For those with mobility challenges, special needs, and/or have significant anxiety about needles, please notify clinic team members on site,” a news release says.

Transportation to and from vaccination clinics can be booked through Rural Rides' website. It's available if booked at least 24 hours in advance and costs $5.

According to the province's news release, the following groups of people can get a third COVID-19 vaccine dose 168 days after being fully vaccinated:

  • People older than 50
  • Frontline or community health care workers who work directly with patients regardless of the interval between your first and second dose
  • Designated caregivers for long-term care facility residents regardless of the interval between your first and second dose
  • People who are immunocompromised
  • Long-term care facility residents

More details on vaccine booster dose eligibility can be found on the province's website.
