“This new service is a positive step towards strengthening our domestic connectivity, providing more choice for our passengers, and boosting tourism to the region,” said Halifax International Airport Authority's president and CEO Joyce Carter in a news release.

“It also provides Atlantic Canadians with convenient connections to western North America, Asia, and the South Pacific.”

The airline will also be resuming routes between Halifax and four destinations.

Flights to Goose Bay, Calgary and London (Heathrow) restart on April 30.

Air Canada flights to Boston return on June 24.
