WestJet bringing back non-stop flights from Halifax to Europe

Haligonians will soon once again be able to fly WestJet non-stop to four European destinations.
The airliner has announced it will resume routes from Halifax Stanfield International Airport to Dublin, London, Glasgow and Paris this spring.
The company's Chief Commercial Officer John Weatherill said WestJet is ready to re-establish Halifax as its Atlantic Gateway hub.
On May 1, daily flights to London Gatwick start, along with flights to Dublin three times a week.
As of May 2, you can fly to Glasgow three times a week, and on May 7, service to Paris resumes four times a week.
The Halifax International Airport Authority's president and CEO says they're thrilled by the news.
“Air connections are vital for the growth of regional tourism, trade, and immigration, and we appreciate WestJet's commitment to our region and investment in these routes as we put Nova Scotia back on the map after two years of very little air travel activity,” said Joyce Carter in a news release.
“At Halifax Stanfield, we're ready to help travellers on their journey and once again, connect Nova Scotia to the world.”
Premier Tim Houston adds this is a sign that Nova Scotia has reopened to the world.
