Youth Live Enviro Depot shutting down south end operation

Those in the south end will soon need to go a little further to return their empties and recycle their electronics.
That's because the Youth Live Enviro Depot on Mitchell Street (off Inglis) will be shutting down operations as of 4 p.m. on Friday, April 1.
Impacted residents can instead head to the Clifton Recycling Centre (2651 Clifton Street) and the Tanners Transfer (6393 Bayne Street).
The Youth Live Program, which currently runs the south end depot, will be opening a cafe in the Sackville Sports Stadium later this year.
The program focuses on offering those between the ages 16 and 24 who are experiencing employment barriers the opportunity to develop life, leadership, and job skills.
The aim of the new venture is to offer a broader range of work experience — including customer service and cash management — to help prepare them for employment in the food service and retail industries.
Youth Live also has a green cart delivery and repair operation.
