Rapid test kits now available in more locations

Nova Scotians can now find COVID-19 rapid testing kits in more locations.

According to the province, people can pick them up at MLA offices, public libraries and Access Nova Scotia locations.

There are also frequent pop-up testing sites, including at the Halifax Central Library and Alderney Gate Building. Locations and hours can be found online. Scroll down to the 'rapid testing pop-up schedule' tab for details.

There is a limit of one box per household member per visit, but each box had five tests.

Nova Scotia is also partnering with Feed Nova Scotia to provide tests to those accessing programs and services at some food banks.

Students and staff of public schools will continue to have access to rapid tests, but the province is changing up its workplace screening program to focus on high-risk settings, including long-term care, acute care, corrections, shelters, and group homes.

Nova Scotians are encouraged to use a rapid test any time they have symptoms, when someone else in their house tests positive or before gathering with someone at high risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19.
