Mooseheads come back to beat Wildcats 6-5 in a shootout win

The Halifax Mooseheads came back to defeat the Moncton Wildcats 6-5 in a shootout on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first period, Nicolas Pavan put the Wildcats on the board.

Elliot Desnoyers tied things up late in the period but Pavan answered back with his second of the evening.

Moncton got off to a strong start in the third period as Alexis Daniel and Alex Mercier extended their lead to 4-1.

Zack Jones brought the Herd within two but Miles Muller answered back.

David Lafrance, Desnoyers and Evan Boucher tied things up with a little over a minute to go in the third period, forcing overtime where neither team managed to score.

The Herd completed the comeback in the shootout, winning 6-5.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Cape Breton on Sunday to take on the Eagles in their final game of the regular season.
