A man is facing charges after two robberies at Mic Mac Mall Tuesday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police were called to the mall's Bank Of Montreal branch at around 2:15 p.m.

They say a man passed a teller a note demanding money. No weapon was seen and he left empty handed.

Minutes later, police were told of another robbery at the Lids store where a man with the same description told staff he had a weapon, then showed them a can of sensory irritant.

The man got money out of the till and left the store, but officers quickly arrested a suspect.

No one was hurt.

A 40-year-old man will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face two counts of robbery and some additional charges.
