Two charged with attempted murder in weekend assault

Halifax Regional Police have charged two people with attempted murder in a weekend assault.

Police were called to the west end of Rufus Avenue in Fairview at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators believe a man was assaulted by two people he knew.

The victim was taken to hospital for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Two suspects were arrested at a nearby residence.

In addition to attempted murder, 27-year-old Nathaniel Logan Muise and 32-year-old Adrian Eric Muise are facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The pair are scheduled to appear in court today.
