Black Excellence Day celebrated in Nova Scotia’s schools
Nova Scotia's schools are celebrating their first Black Excellence Day.
The province says students, teachers and staff have been encouraged to wear black T-shirts and host events.
“All students should feel valued, included and celebrated,” said Becky Druhan, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development in a news release.

“Black Excellence Day is an opportunity for schools, students and staff to reflect on the achievements of Black students and how their future successes can be supported.”
Participants are being encouraged to share their Black Excellence Day photos on social media using #NSBlackExcellenceDay.
