Several traffic delays and street closures this weekend

There are several road closures and delays scheduled for this weekend in Halifax.
The road closures are the result of the Stanely Cup parade, a 10 kilometre race and construction.
The list of detailed information from the city is provided below:
Location: Forest Hills Parkway at the intersection of Auburn Drive
Date: Saturday, August 20
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This work is related to road construction. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
During this work the traffic signals will be shut down and traffic control personnel will be in place to direct traffic, pedestrians and cyclists. Road users should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Location: Beginning on Albermarle Street and ending at Grand Parade
Date: Saturday, August 20
Time: 12 noon to 1 p.m.
This closure is to facilitate the Nathan MacKinnon Stanley Cup parade.
The parade will begin on Albermarle Street, turn right onto Duke Street, turn left onto Brunswick Street, continue to Spring Garden Road, turn right on Spring Garden Road and continue to South Park Street, turn right on South Park Street and continue to Sackville Street, turn right on Sackville Street and continue to Brunswick Street, turn right on Carmichael Street, and will finish at Grand Parade.
Location: Rocky Lake Drive between Duke Street and Cobequid Road
Date: Saturday, August 20 & Sunday, August 21
Time: From 1 a.m. on Aug. 20 to 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 21
Construction of an overpass for the NS Highway 107 Sackville-Bedford-Burnside Connector.
Rocky Lake Drive will be closed to all traffic between Duke Street and Quarrystone Drive while the new highway overpass is being constructed. Local access will be maintained via Cobequid Road up to Quarrystone Drive. The street will reopen on Sunday once the work area has been made safe for motorists. Detour signage will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes, if possible.
Location: North end of Halifax
Date: Sunday, August 21
Time: 7 a.m. to noon.
The run will talk place on the following streets:
- Gottingen Street
- Black Street
- Fuller Terrace
- Bloomfield Street
- Agricola Street
- Rosemeade Avenue
- Hillside Avenue
- Robie Street
- Leeds Street
- Novalea Drive
Road users should expect delays and ask asked to take alternative routes where possible.
MacKay Bridge is also being reduced to one lane each direction from Saturday, Aug. 20 at 5 a.m. to Monday, Aug. 22 at 5:30 a.m. for emergency asphalt repair.
