Man facing firearms charges after being arrested in Dartmouth

A 19-year-old man is facing several firearms charges after being arrested in Dartmouth over the weekend.

At around 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Halifax Regional Police were told three men were going up driveways and pulling on the handles of vehicles in The Horseshoe area near Oathill Lake.

When officers arrived, they arrested three men and say one had a loaded firearm.

Wyatt Joseph Ross was scheduled to appear in court yesterday to face charges of:

  • Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized
  • Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition

The other two men were released without charges.

The officers seized some items they believe could be stolen.
