Elections Nova Scotia's new Chief Electoral Officer comes to the position after spending several years working within the organization.
Before being appointed to the position by the provincial House of Assembly on Tuesday, Dorothy Rice had been on the organization's senior leadership since 2011, serving as Chief Financial Officer.
“I am excited to assume the role of Chief Electoral Officer and to guide the talented team at Elections Nova Scotia who are focused on providing excellent service to Nova Scotian electors,” said Rice. “Looking ahead, our strategic plan will guide our continues work to modernize the democratic process in our province.”
