Halifax Regional Police are investigating reports of a man fraudulently attempting to collect money on behalf of a local church.

They say the man was going door-to-door telling people he was with the Fairview United Church.

“Police are advising that the man is not associated with the church and this is a scam,” said HRP in a news release.

The suspect is described as white and around 5'8″.

He had been wearing a black winter hat with a yellow logo, a teal puffy winter jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at -902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
