Mooseheads extend winning streak

By Dan Ahlstrand

A bomb from Jake Furlong just after the 15-minute mark of the 1st period opened the scoring for Halifax.  Furlong extended his points streak to 6 games with the opening goal.

The Herd broke the game open in the 2nd period with three goals, the first from Alex Doucet 5 minutes into the second frame.

Evan Boucher made it 3-0 when he scored his 21st of the season just before Jordan Dumais tallied, making it 4-0 for Halifax.

Victoriaville found the net early in the 3rd period with a power play marker from Maxime Pellerin, making the score 4-1

The Tigres then made it a 2-goal game with a goal from Frederic Brunet with 1:30 left in the final period.

But Jordan Dumais added his second of the game into an empty net to make it 5-2 and seal the win for Halifax.

Dumais now has 44 goals on the season.

The Mooseheads will try and extend their unbeaten streak to 5 when they return to action Saturday night in Sherbrooke.  Game time is 7 'o'clock, and you can catch all of the action live on CityNews 95.7 with Garreth McDonald.
