Lawrence picks up hat-trick in Mooseheads 10-5 win over Charlottetown

The Halifax Mooseheads ended their regular season on a high note, defeating the Charlottetown Islanders 10-5 on Saturday.

Josh Lawrence opened up the scoring, putting Halifax up 1-0 but Kiefer Lyons quickly answered back to tie things up.

Zachary L’Heureux restored the Herd’s lead with Lawrence following up with his second of the period.

L’Heureux closed out the period by netting his second of the afternoon, making it 4-1 Halifax.

Alexandre Doucet added to the Mooseheads’ lead early in the second period.

Keiran Gallant scored Charlottetown’s second goal of the afternoon but Evan Boucher quickly restored Halifax’s four goal lead.

Owen Phillips extended Halifax’s lead but Michael Horth answered back to bring the Isles within four.

Horth picked up his second of the game early in the third period but Lawrence completed the hat-trick to make it 8-4 Halifax.

Brody Fournier and Markus Vidicek added a pair of goals to the Herd’s lead while Marcus Kearsey brought the Isles within five.

But it wasn’t enough as the Mooseheads picked up their 50th win of the regular season.

The Mooseheads will be back in action next Friday for the first round of the playoffs.
