RCMP issue Emergency Alert after weapons call (update)

9:50 PM RCMP cancelled alert

Nova Scotia RCMP responded to a weapons call on Downie Road in Indian Brook Sunday evening. A short time later, an Emergency Alert warned the public that a woman might be armed with a handgun in that area and should be considered dangerous.

The suspect is 27-year-old Shannon Yvonne Hudson, who is described as being 5 foot 3 inches tall, 119 pounds, slim build with shoulder length light brown hair, blue eyes, last seen wearing blue jeans, a light sweater and a red hat. Hudson is believed to be on foot.

Police say Hudson should not be approached and ask anyone who sees her should contact 911 immediately.
