Halifax man faces multiple assault related charges

A man is facing charges in connection to an assault that took place in Halifax on Monday.
Police say at roughly 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at an apartment building on Vimy Avenue where a man went to another apartment and struck the tenant with a wooden object after the tenant complained about the noise coming from his apartment.
The man fled on foot from police and assaulted two officers before being arrested.
Police say the officers and the tenant were treated by EHS at the scene.
Dominic Caldi, 30, was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Tuesday to face the following charges:
- Assaulting a peace officer (x2)
- Assault with a weapon
- Resist arrest
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
- Failing to comply with a release order
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
